The basic principle of an ultrasonic homogenizer is the use of ultrasonic waves generated by a transducer to create high-frequency pressure waves in a liquid medium. These pressure waves create microscopic bubbles in the liquid through a process known as cavitation. When these bubbles collapse, they generate intense shock waves and micro-jets that produce shear forces and shock waves that can disrupt or homogenize the sample.
